Pickup & delivery

When production wraps up, customers need clear pickup or delivery instructions. Keep fulfillment details on the order so staff and clients see the same message.

Fulfillment on the order

Use the order record for:

  • Deadline / ready-by date
  • Status (e.g. complete, ready for pickup)
  • Activity updates visible to the client (“Ready for pickup at front counter”)
  • Client address and contact info from the linked client profile

There is no separate shipping module — fulfillment is communicated through order status, notes, and customer notifications tied to your workflow.

Customer communication

When an order moves to complete or a status you mark as client-visible:

  • Email notifications can fire based on status changes (configured in your workspace)
  • The customer approval / order view link can show updates you allow them to see

Consistent wording in activity entries reduces “is it ready yet?” calls.

Suggested workflow

  1. Mark order Complete when goods are boxed and labeled.
  2. Add an activity note with pickup window or tracking (if you use external carriers).
  3. Optionally send a status notification if your templates include that trigger.

Tips

  • Align order statuses with fulfillment language your team already uses (“Ready for pickup”, “Shipped”, etc.).
  • For delivery jobs, confirm ship-to address on the client record before production finishes.
